Replacement Windows

Want to replace your windows but don’t know where to start?

When it comes to replacement windows, there are many styles and features available.  Single hung vs. double hung, vinyl vs. fiberglass, which is really better? Everyone’s got an opinion and it can get confusing. Every company says their window is best. The fact is there are a lot of really good window brands out there and they will all perform better than what you have presently in your home. There is no clear cut answer and a lot of it depends on you. That’s where our consulting comes in.

What customers care about most is this:

  1. The company/warranty
  2. The quality of the installation
  3. The price.

Our competition comes out to your house representing one or two window brands that they have special deals with and they make you choose between them. The salespeople are pushy and try to force you to make a quick decision while in the home. Some won’t even make an appointment to send a representative out unless both spouses are going to be there together. We feel that way of doing business is antiquated in today’s modern business climate.

Home Consultants philosophy is completely different. We will take as much time as you need to help you through the whole process, from start to finish. We look at your home, needs and budget to determine which window choice is best for you. If you have a rental home, you may not want to spend top dollar for an Andersen window so we have a few other brands to choose from. Likewise, if you are planning on being in your home for some time, you are probably going to want one of the best windows you can buy assuming you are planning on living in the home for a while to recoup the window cost. Eventually the windows will pay for themselves in the form of lower energy costs. Typically about eight to ten years is the time it takes to break even and start making money on windows. Having good windows in your home will reduce the wear and tear on your A/C system prolonging its life and efficiency.

When deciding on windows, you have 3 things to consider.

  1. FRAME MATERIAL    Aluminum, Vinyl, Fiberglass, and Wood are the frame choices. All have strengths and weaknesses and we can go into that in more detail when we come out to see you. Most popular choice now is vinyl.
  2. GLASS PACKAGES   There are only three actual glass manufacturers that provide all the glass for the window companies like Andersen etc. They all offer similar energy ratings and options like argon gas. All will save you money as long as you get Low E2.
  3. STYLES/FUNCTION   Here is where you can get creative. Custom windows come in different operating choices like tilt in for easy cleaning, crank  or casement and slider type. You have a blank canvass so you can have your windows any way you want. Thinking about changing a big twin window into a bay? We can do it for you!
